In Still Star Crossed and Bridgerton, two shows set centuries ago in Europe, the aristocracy is racially diverse. In the former, the approach is more escapist - racism is not mentioned at all. In the latter, racism is dealt with more head-on, mentioned as something that was overcome and is featured heavily in the prequel series.
