Quakerism, a sect of Christianity, is guided by 6 core values: simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equality, and stewardship (SPICES). Quakers are anti- violence/war, pro-equality among all people (including rejecting many forms of heirarchy), and were promonint abolitionists during slavery. During "meeting for worship" (the Quaker version of church), everyone sits in silence for an hour, during which time people can be moved by the light of God to speak (a concept akin to the Holy Spirit), in which case they stand and speak to the entire meeting.
