Chicago has a sanctuary city ordinance which bans police from cooperation with federal immigration agents when they arrest an undocumented person. The recently proposed Lopez-Tabares Amendment would allow Chicago police to collaborate with federal agents if undocumented residents are accused of gang-related crimes.
