The Avengers are a team of superheroes who protect the world from extraordinary threats. During several of their missions, while stopping supernatural dangers to humanity, they also caused large-scale destruction and civilian casualties. In response, the United Nations drafted the Sokovia Accords to regulate their actions. The Accords require the Avengers to operate only under the supervision of an international governing body and prohibit them from acting independently without approval.
