Luigi Mangione, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, is currently suspected of shooting and killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4, 2024. When arrested, authorities found Mangione with a weapon consistent with that used to kill Thompson and a manifesto decrying the healthcare industry. Since then, thousands of people on social media have expressed their support for Mangione, calling him a hero.
