Assuming it cannot be done later, THP Vladimir's doctors not euthanize him
Vladimir is a terminally-ill patient whose rare and painful illness has no known cure. He told his relatives that if his illness were to further develop and impair his cognitive abilities, he would like to be euthanized. He consensually signed a binding agreement (also called an advance directive) declaring the same. One day, Vladimir suffered a stroke. As a result, he experienced significant cognitive deterioration (eg, a sharp decline in IQ and substantial memory loss) and a decreased quality of life (eg, trouble performing basic tasks such as eating and moving around). It's been a few days since his stroke and his doctors are preparing to euthanize him. He tells his doctors he’d like to live.
