Hasan Minhaj is a comedian who draws heavily on his experiences as an Asian American and a Muslim American during his stand-up shows. In September 2023, the New Yorker published an exposé revealing that Minhaj had embellished several of his anecdotes about facing Islamophobia. Minhaj admitted to embellishing such stories, defending them as having "emotional truth."
